Bulletin 11/08
pg. 1 of 1
Bulletin No: 11/08
INFORMATION BULLETIN
Date: October 11, 2011
To: Hockey Alberta Member Associations
From: Mike Kraichy
Coordinator, Team Alberta Female
SUBJECT: 2012 Alberta Winter Games – Female Tryouts

Hockey Alberta is calling for all Alberta female hockey players born between 1997-2000, for the 2012 Alberta Winter Games program.
This is a premier development program designed to give participants a great development experience through an organized and competitive zone camp. Once the camp is completed, 20 players are selected to represent their zone in the 2012 Alberta Winter Games which take place February 9-12, 2012 in Spruce Grove, AB.
Zone camps run from December 9-11, 2011. The Camp cost is $125.00 per athlete, which in turn supplies a jersey and four ice sessions including two skill development sessions and two game sessions.
The Alberta Winter Games zone camp is the first stage of identification and evaluation for players born 1997- 2000. Designed for players of all levels, this camp gives athletes the opportunity to participate in the Team Alberta Under-16 program. The Team Alberta Under-16 program is a development program designed to enhance individual skills, not only on the ice, but off the ice in the areas of mental and physical training.
Please note that all female players that are currently playing on a male hockey team who are trying out for the Alberta Winter Games are strongly encouraged to try out for the female program. If any female player, enters in the male Alberta Winter Games play down series with her club team, she is no longer eligible to try out for the female Program, regardless of whether her club team qualifies for the Alberta Winter Games or not. If a female player on a male team enters the female tryouts, she is no longer eligible to enter the male Alberta Winter Games program, which includes both the Winter Games play downs and the Alberta Winter Games. A choice and a commitment must be made prior to applying for the female camp.

All athletes must play in the zones in which their parents reside. A zone map is available on our website at www.hockeyalberta.ca
Registration deadline is November 25th, 2011.
To register online, please visit our web site at www.hockeyalberta.ca

Hello Everyone,

I know most of you have moved  past Hockey mode by now but we are looking for some help April 28th - May 1st.  Hockey Alberta and FSMH are hosting the Team Alberta Challenge at the JRC.

We are looking for evaluators/coaches/volunteers willing to come out and volunteer their time to help Hockey Albert with their evaluations of these players.  It will be a great learning opportunity for anyone wishing for some insight and training to do evaulations.  This will also be a great perspective for anyone wishing to coach for next season.

There will be staff from Hockey Alberta to provide the structure and guidelines to follow for the evaluators.

If you or anyone you know are willing to help out, we need 2-3 evaluators per ice session.

Please respond directly to myself so I can make sure we have all slots filled.

Thank You in Advance!

The JMHA AGM will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 7 P.M. at Moyer Recreation Center.

AGM rebate cheques were issued on a per family basis.

This was done in error.

The cheques should have been per registered child.

Additional cheques will be issued shortly.

Thank you ,
